Stash Busting

Decided to start working my way through my bits n bobs boxes, and this is the first result.

I found some pre-printed stamps which I must have got free on a magazine at some point, so painted this cute hedghog with my H2Os. Used a scrap of green glitter card to layer it on. backed the whole lot with some Hunkydory card I bought in a kit a while ago. I used some unusual square gems in the corner and a Mic metal flower - I found a card of them, but no idea how long they've been languishing in my craft room, but the sticky backs are no longer sticky!

Hope you like - it's certainly good to finally get some crafting mojo back!

Wildlife Bouquet

Another lovely walk along the canal today, making the most of the weather, it's getting to be quite a habit! Well it must be good for us!

We fed the ducks who seem to be getting to know us now, and come to us almost as soon as we leave the back gate!

And we collected a beautiful wildlife bouquet, including dandilions, I remembered the old wives tale of wetting the bed if you pick dandilions, well if that is true I bet the guy who was over the fields mowing them was going to be in trouble with his wife, he uprooted loads of them!

Pretty as anything from interflora!

Feeling a bit low

Feeling really tearful today, no idea why - which kind of makes it even worse cos it's so illogical.

Had a wonderful couple of days with walks and fun and even in the pool yesterday afternoon, all of the idylic parts of home ed with none of the routine bits getting in the way.. so why am I this way? I can cope with being low when there is a trigger for it, but when it's like this it drives me nuts!

Too sunny for maths!

Well we woke up this morning to blue skies, and bright sunshine.

After having set up a load of maths work last night, immediately decided after all the yucky weather we've had there was no way we were sitting indoors pouring over pages of maths. It's very patient is maths, it'll still be there.

So being blessed with a beautiful canal right outside our back gate, we decided the ducks needed feeding and we'd walk an find where we ended up.

The ducks got a rude awakening - quite literally in one case, TJ threw bread to on who was sitting quietly on the bank looking the other way.. except her aim wasn't the best and instead of landing just infront of him as she intended, she managed to hit (gently) him! He wasn't best pleased and let us know by jabbering at us for the next five minutes non-stop!

As we walked down the canal throwing bread as we went we were followed by ducks, pigeons and sea-gulls alike.

As we walked under a bridge I couldn't believe what we saw, could this be the most unusual place for a yarn shop?

Unfortunately they'd only stopped to get some shopping, so weren't set up to sell, but they've told us where they will be set up at the weekend, so weather permitting a trip to Calf Heath may be in order!

We continued down the canal, and came to a small shop which sold canal themed souvenirs. We picked up a couple of models to make of old fashioned 'bargees' (canal people) and a canal horse, just need to colour them in and cut them out. Oh and we bought an ice cream of course!

Turning around we decided to make our way to the park on the way back for a fun 'PE lesson'

After that it was time to hurry home for lunch, as we had a very important appointment this afternoon - took my older daughter to hospital for her 20 week scan to find out we're expecting a second grandson!

This evening was off to church for a lovely meal with lovely friends, very yummy!

A really lovely day!

Finally Up And Running!

I've had this blogspot a VERY long time, can't remember exactly how long, but i'm pretty sure I had it before I met my husband, so that would put it at least 7 years ago! But I've never before actually got around to doing anything with it.. so i thought it was time!

*hugs*
